Biography

After almost 8 years working in administrative posts for my local Council, I realised that office work was not what I wanted to do for the rest of my working life.  I needed to change direction.

Influenced by my late father, I have always had an interest in art. I spent hours drawing and painting as a child and loved art lessons at school.  So, with my husband's support, I left my last admin post in 1999 to go back into full time education, first to do an Art Foundation Diploma at Tameside College and then on to a BA (Hons) Degree in 3 Dimensional Design at Manchester Metropolitan University. I graduated in 2003 after enjoying every minute of my time at college and university.*

I was born in Oldham and currently live and work in Diggle, Saddleworth.

*Two years after I graduated, during a loft clearout, I found a job aptitude printout, from a long forgotten careers lesson. It stated that the answers I had given in a questionnaire pointed towards my suitability for a career in 3 dimensional design. I got there eventually.
